Champions! Berowra wins A Grade Cricket Premiership

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

Berowra Cricket Clubs A grade side, led by skipper Nick McNay, has won its 6th premiership in the last 7 seasons defeating West Pennant Hills in a hard-fought final to confirm its status as the dominant team in the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Hills District cricket competition.

Berowra, batting first, scored 192 runs with Scott Griffin scoring 70 and young gun Cooper Davenport 41. West Pennant Hills were bowled out for 115 with spin bowlers Griffin (4 wickets) and Davenport (3 wickets) proving too hot to handle for the West Penno batters.

Our C4 team, led by Fred O`Connor and with a number of first-time players, narrowly lost their Grand Final to minor premiers St Ives by 2 wickets. In a thriller, Saxon Martin almost bowled his team to victory taking 5 wickets in a marathon spell in the hot condition.

To cap off what has been an outstanding season for the Club, Berowra also secured the prestigious Club Championship.

A big call out to all our Sponsors Ingrid Stewart at Chadwicks, Kohinor Scaffolding, Bambino`s Too, Astley Electrical, Bendigo Bank, Club Berowra, Clear Dental and Building Code & Bushfire Hazard Solutions for their loyal and generous support this season.

Looking forward to next season already!

Greg Fiedler - Berowra Cricket Club President
